Lake Forest Club Rules

Please review the following club rules to help with smooth operations for our summer season. The Lake Forest Yacht Club grounds are intended for use solely by its members and their non-resident guests. 

GENERAL:

  • The use of this facility is at your own risk, lifeguards are there to help provide safety, but not guarantee it.

  • Parents are responsible for their children’s actions and will be held liable.

  • All members and guests must be in possession of an LFYC beach badge with the current year sticker on it.

  • Cars must display an LFYC hang tag with the current year sticker.

  • LFYC is not responsible for lost or stolen property.

  • Animals are welcome on LFYC property but are not permitted on the beach/sand and should be supervised at all times.

  • PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG.

  • No member or non-member may traverse or use any Lake Forest property, other than roadways and parking lots, with gas-powered vehicles including, Motorcycles/Bikes or ATVs without the express permission of the Lake Forest Yacht Club. Any damage caused shall be the responsibility of the individual using such vehicles.

  • Use of the facility is permitted only in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local laws and ordinances.

WHEN A LIFEGUARD IS ON DUTY:

  • Children 12 years and older are allowed to be on the beach and in the water. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied/supervised by a responsible guardian.

WHEN A LIFEGUARD IS NOT ON DUTY:

  • All persons under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible guardian, 16 years or older, when on

the beach or swimming.

SWIMMING AND DIVING:

  • Swimming is permitted in designated areas only and may be restricted by lifeguards at any time.

  • The high dive tower is off-limits when the lifeguards are off duty.

  • No pushing or shoving on the diving platform.

  • Only one person is permitted on the diving board, high dive platform, or ladder at a time.

  • Divers must dive forward off the board, not to the right or left.

  • Exit the water via appropriate ladders. High dive to the right and low board to the left.

BEACH:

  • Ball playing is prohibited, except in designated areas i.e., volleyball area.

  • Fires are not permitted on the beach/sand area.

  • Motor vehicles and Bike Riding are not permitted in the beach/sand area.

  • Fishing from sand and posted areas is prohibited.

  • Umbrellas, pop-up tents, etc. are not to obstruct the lifeguard’s view and should not be placed beyond the line.

  • Trailers are not permitted in the beach parking area.

  • Do not litter. Put all debris in the provided, marked containers.

  • NO GLASS ALLOWED ON THE BEACH.

GUESTS:

  • LFYC Members are responsible for their guests and must be present with them at all times.

  • Limit of 10 guests per day. If you require additional guests, please check with the office.

It’s important to have the hang tag in your car and your badge with you and visible while on the property. Guests should have guest passes (available at the office, even when closed) visible on car dashboards and guests must be accompanied by a member while on club property. No person eligible to join LFYC may be a guest of a member. Gate keys are not to be provided to any nonmembers for their use without the owner of the key being present and again, NO person eligible to join LFYC may be a guest of a member or use any portion of the club facilities. Boat trailers are not to be parked overnight in any of the club lots without prior permission from the office and must be as far as possible from the boat ramp
